The Hunt for Javan Rusa Deer in Mauritius.

The amazing side of hunting is Mauritius is that you reside on a beautiful hotel on the beach and drive 10 minutes to go hunting!

The Hunting is done on 6 different Estates that are under 6 foot fences. All the Rusa Deer are eligible to enter the new F239 category in the SCI record book. The hunt for trophies is done by spot and stalk but can also be done from blinds. The terrain is not very difficult and the higher point is about 2000 feet in the Mountains in the Middle of the Island.

The Prime Time is Mid-July up until Mid-August when the deer are in rute. During that time it is not rare to see 200 Rusa on an opened field calling, fighting! The prices are for Gold Medal Rusa Deeer up to 34" long, which is not a problem as they have been managing these Estates for over 5 year and the trophy quality and quantity are great. Every year, they harvest about 10 exceptional Rusa Deer that are over 34", and you will see some while stalking. If you are interested by one of these exceptional trophies you should make reservation way in advance.

You can use a rifle or a bow. Mauritus does not allow the import of firearms, so you will be oblige to leave yours under customs at the airport, at no charges, which is safe and not a problem to organize. The guide has 9 different rifles and numerous bows to choose from.

The package or the Daily Rate of 250 euros per Room, per Night is for a Deluxe Room for 2 Guests including Breakfast and Dinner. Not included are the lunches, as most of the time, lunches are taken in restaurant on the Island while shoppping, touring or hunting. Many Rooms are facing the Ocean but to guarantee an Ocean view you will have to upgrade to a Beach Front Room. You can also upgrade to a Junior Suite, a Family Room or a Villa.

The Resort offers 3 Restaurants featuring Fresh Fish and Seafood as well as Vegetables and Tropical Fruits from Mauritius. The restaurants have theme buffet like Indian, Chinese, BBQ and Creole as well as private Lobster dinners on the Beach or in the Cellar. Other nightly entertainments and Bar available. For younger Kids, starting at 3 year old a Mini-club with activities is opened during the day.

The Tropical Spa is a heaven of peace and tranquility offering precious treatments and massages.
