Trout Fishing Minimize

Patagonia, Argentina is a world famous fishing destination for wild brown, rainbow and brook trout.  Fishing from the boat or wading is first class.  Fishing season runs from November through the end of May and as every trout fisherman knows each season offers something distinct and special from the others.  We have a diversified selection of rivers and lake , which offer many challenging characteristics from shallow rifles, fast runs, deep pools, undercut banks, isolated channels, vegetation mats, and deadfall structures.  Normally, we fish all of these in many different areas to give the angler a broader experience.

We fish the Nahuel Huapi National Park and Lanin National Park, where natural surroundings are extremely beautiful.  From Bariloche and Junin de los Ande, we will be fishing the following dream rivers and lakes:  Limay, Traful, Manso, Pichileufu, Malleo, Chimehuin, Alumine, Collon Cura, Caleufu, Quemquemtreu, Quillen and Fonck, Roca or Hess Lake.

Guides Minimize

Our Guide team is made up of fully licensed fly fishing guides, who are from Argentina.  More than their extensive knowledge, experience and mastery of fishing, our guides are a close group of friends who have traveled, fished, and shared a part of their lives together for many years.

From the moment you arrive at the airport there will be hosts, guides, translators, drivers, and cooks to accomodate your needs.

Fly FIshing in Patagonia with Indianhead Expeditions

Our favorite option is a fly fishing float trip, which is two to six days, depending on the river destination.  With this trip, a cargo raft carries all personal gear and equipment floating ahead of us while you are fly fishing.  The camps are completely set up by the men on the cargo raft.  Six men dome tents are shared by two anglers, offering plenty of room to get comfortable and are complete with the very best gear that is avaiable on the market.  The tents include cots, sleeping bags, and air matresses.  Dinners are cooked on an open fire, "Argentina Style".

Lodging Minimize

Patagonia LodgingOur outfitter focuses on the best fly fishing spots and as the river changes along with the season the same thing happens to trout.

The advantage our guesst have is that we are not bound to a particular lodge and we would like you to have a wide range of possibilities to accomodate your stay. We have several arrangements in Bariloche, Junin de los Andes and National Parks, so we can customize the perfect trip for an individual or a large group.  The accomodations, which include cabins, hosteroas, private ranches or hotels, are selected depending on the size of the group, the character of the group, length of stay and the desires of the groups members.

For additional cost, we can arrange many activities in the area for non-anglers.  Some of the activities we suggest are horseback riding, hiking, rafting.  More relaxing pursuits include wine tasting, birdwatching, flora and fauna tours, local shopping, cultural tours, photograpghy safaris and scenic rafting trips.  Patagonia is a great place for a nature trip in an area of exceptional beauty far from the rest of the world.
